Isa’s eggplant bacon + fried potatoes [thinly sliced with olive oil, salt and pepper]. Always delicious.
Bati
After a truly lovely evening at the theater (I saw The Caretaker at the Brooklyn Academy of Music - fabulous! I love Pinter), I was quite hungry for some dinner and saw Bati advertised in my playbill. I have never had Ethiopian food before so I was unsure what to expect, how to order, so I got a Vegetarian platter in order to have a bit of everything.
Interestingly, Bati prepares all of their vegetable dishes vegan for Lent, so it was no trouble for me to eat anything! However, my dining companion ordered the meat platter and it all came out on one plate (pictured above), so I had to navigate a bit

Pita Press + PIGS
Hi guys! Happy Valentine’s Day!
Sadly, my roomate decided to suck had to work so we had to cancel our (way too pricey anyway) dinner at Candle 79.
So I have two HOTTER dates today - the vegan plate I got from Pita Press earlier, pictured above (tomato-mint fritters, pita, fava bean dip, light salad, lemon roasted potatoes) and a yoga class at the Loom tonight! Maybe followed by drinking and shooting things at Pine Box or going home and watching 30 Rock (because I am Liz Lemon, but not so much this season - damn you, sexy James Marsden). Haven’t decided yet.
Whether you’re single or otherwise romantically involved, I hope y’all have a glorious Valentine’s Day!
Also, pigs. Pigs will always be your valentines.
Coming up - product review of mac and cheeze, thoughts on the Vegan Shop-Up on Sunday and a late review of the Organic Grill.
