Cape May Bakers

Part of NYC Vegan’s vacation edition!

I went to Cape May, NJ for a week on vacation with my family and hunted around for vegan options. I was certainly not disappointed by the excellent Cape May Bakers where vegan options abounded! I didn’t get around to taking pictures of everything I had there, but here’s a list of some excellent vegan options:

  • Roasted vegetable focaccia [pictured above]: amazing, especially heated up in a toasted oven for a few minutes
  • Tomato focaccia: also excellent, but I liked the variety of vegetables on the other focaccia better
  • Wild rice quinoa salad with chickpeas, sundried tomatoes in an herb vinaigrette: very tasty, and wasn’t too pricey especially as I ate it over the course of two days and beefed it up with some roasted beets
  • Toffee chocolate chip muffin: so tasty. We stored these in the fridge because they got a little hard, but I heated it up in the microwave and it was just like a yummy little cake.

Everything was fairly priced and the shop workers were very pleasant. There were many other vegan options as well, such as different types of muffins and savory pastries. I highly recommended a visit!

Cape May Bakers is located at 482 W. Perry Street.
